Oil and Glycol Program

On October 24, 2012, the government of New Brunswick approved REGULATION 2012-92 under the Clean Environment Act. This regulation amends the Designated Materials Regulation 2008-54. Under the Regulation oil, oil filters, oil containers, glycol and glycol containers are designated materials and require a stewardship plan.

Recycle NB is working with industry to put a waste management program in place.

A brand owner must hold a valid registration to sell, offer for sale or distribute oil, oil filters or glycol in New Brunswick. All brand owners must register with Recycle NB by February 5, 2013.
